September is here which means the Treasury Management Association of San Diego’s 24th Annual Fall Conference is just around the corner! Again, this year it will be held at the beautiful Southwestern Yacht Club on Shelter Island on September 27th.
The 2006 Fall Conference was a great success and we hope to have yet another successful event. This year you will learn information on several educational and interesting topics and will also be treated to two special keynote speakers. Full agenda is downloadable below.

Keynote Speaker: Roger Hedgecock , Radio Celebrity
ROGER is the host of the Roger Hedgecock Community Forum, 3-6 pm Monday-Friday, on AM 600 KOGO in San Diego. His broadcast has remained the number one talk radio program in San Diego, for twenty-one years!
Roger can also be heard live online, worldwide, at www.rogerhedgecock.com. In addition to hosting his own radio broadcast, Roger is a frequent guest host of the Rush Limbaugh Show. He has broadcast regular news commentaries on several San Diego TV stations.
Roger, well known as "The Radio Mayor of San Diego", is a former Mayor of the City of San Diego. He served as a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for six years and before that as City Attorney for Del Mar.
Roger has received numerous local awards for broadcasting including, most recently, the 2004, 2005, and 2006 awards for Best Talk Show , and the 2002 and 2004 Excellence in Journalism Award from the San Diego Press Club.
Roger has also received the Gold Medal for broadcast excellence at the New York International Radio Festival and the Silver Medal for International Radio Programming at the New York Festival for World Media. He has been twice nominated for the prestigious Marconi Award. He's named one of the 100 Best Talk Show Hosts in America by Talkers Magazine for nine years in a row!
In 2001, Roger's reaction to the 9/11 attack on America caused him to create a grassroots, volunteer on-air effort to support our military families here in the United States while their spouses are on duty overseas. Known as Homefront San Diego, enlisted rank military families are matched with generous individuals and businesses in the listening audience. From baby clothes to plumbing, from car repair to computers, over 10,000 military families have received support.
Roger attended San Diego State University and is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He received his law degree from U C Hastings College of Law and is a member of the California Bar Association.
He is married to Cindy Hedgecock, his business manager. They have two grown sons, James and Christopher.
Keynote Speaker: Michael Aguirre, San Diego City Attorney
Sworn in as San Diego City Attorney on December 6, 2004, Michael Aguirre's legal career spans three decades as a federal prosecutor, fraud victim trial attorney, municipal law expert, U.S. Senate investigator, and public interest lawyer. The City Attorney, like the Mayor, is elected City-wide by the voters. (http://www.sandiego.gov/cityattorney/about/biography.shtml)
A lifelong San Diegan, Mr. Aguirre has a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University and earned his law degree in 1974 from University of California Berkeley's Boalt Hall, where he was student body president. He also holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University.
In building a successful private practice, Mr. Aguirre has recovered more than a quarter-billion dollars for victims of pension and stock fraud. He has prevailed in damage actions against such defendants as J. David & Co., First Pension Corp., Prudential Bache, and the American Principals Company.
As a Department of Justice Assistant U.S. Attorney in San Diego, he directed a grand jury probe of pension racketeering. Its successful culmination resulted in appointment as assistant counsel to the U.S. Senate's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, where he led an investigation into a nationwide organized crime employee benefits fraud scheme.
Mr. Aguirre has been a faculty member in the History Department at the University of Southern California and a regular speaker at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He chaired the most recent National Conference on Organized Crime and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
San Diego City Attorney Michael Aguirre was honored in the Top Attorneys 2006 poll conducted by the San Diego Daily Transcript. More than 6,000 local attorneys were polled, resulting in 600 nominations for 11 pre-selected categories. In 2005, The Los Angeles Daily Journal, one of the nation's preeminent legal newspapers, named City Attorney Aguirre one of the Top 100 Lawyers in California. In addition, Californians Aware bestowed the City Attorney with its first Light of Day awards, recognizing individuals who promote greater accountability and transparency in government. In 2001, Mr. Aguirre was recognized for his outstanding trial work by the Lawyers for Public Justice when they selected him as a Trial Lawyer of the Year Finalist.
The City Attorney is a member of the State Bar of California, Federal Bar Association and the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association. He was a founding officer of the San Diego Crime Commission.
Mr. Aguirre is an energetic community volunteer and has represented numerous individuals and organizations in pro bono cases involving the public interest, including late labor leader Cesar Chavez of the United Farm Worker's Union.
The City Attorney is a marathon runner. As of 2006, he has run a total of 21 marathons, including all 11 Rock n' Roll Marathons in San Diego. Mr. Aguirre is the father of two adult children.
